About Us

Serving Knitting Lovers, Yarners and Crocheters in Oshawa, Durham Region and the GTA for 50+ Years

Knitting pros and novices alike have been coming to The Wool Queen in Oshawa for over 50 years.  Heather is the owner and operator of our store and has instilled a strong commitment to friendly culture and informative customer service. Whether you are tracking down a specific type of yarn or wool, or you’re just looking to learn a fun and relaxing new hobby, you will find everything you need from her at our shop.

Help Those Less Fortunate
Interested in helping the less fortunate in our community? Knit and crocheted items are being accepted in-store for the Casting Off the Cold initiative. Hats, mitts, scarves, afghans—for baby, child or adultwe will gladly accept anything you create, and we'll distribute to those in need in the Durham Region.

Donate Your Leftover Yarn
We also collect leftover yarn and needles for a charity called Learning for Hope located in Peru.  Learning for Hope teaches Peruvian children how to knit, giving them a practical skill that will last a lifetime. Also, if you like, they accept handmade infant hats for the babies living higher up in the mountains who often suffer from frostbite. There is a basket located just inside the door for your donation.
