Original Yarn is La Lana Del Deserto, which is discontinued.  Based on the needles required by the pattern I would suggest a DK weight (3) yarn.  

Original Yarn is Sirdar YoYo, a heavy worsted weight. So a good substitute for this pattern would be James Brett Rustic Aran weight wise.
